Obiettivi formativi
This course is meant to provide a thorough understanding of the principles of thermodynamics, physics of incompressible fluids and waves, as well as appropriate learning skills to address new topics through autonomous commitment and to undertake advanced study of the various areas of physics. The student must attain mastery of the topics covered in the course, either through the analytical presentation (demonstrations) and synthetic matter, or through the ability to address and solve specific numerical problems.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi
The student will be able to understand the basic elements of many-particle systems, the link between the point-like body mechanics and the thermodynamic and fluid dynamics. It will also acquire the basic knowledge of wave motion.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
1. The exam consists of a written test and an oral exam.
2. There are exam sessions in late June / July, September and December. Those who pass the written exam at the first attempt, can take the oral one on the first, second, third and fourth round; those who pass the written one on the second, can take the oral to the second, third and fourth round, and so on; those who pass the written exam in December may take the oral only in December.
3. The test schedule is posted on the website of the course and can be changed only for unavoidable reasons, with as much notice as possible.
4. The written test consists in the resolution of TWO problems, similar to the level of difficulty to those proposed during the course and during the tutoring.
5. The written test lasts two hours. It is allowed for consultation of the formula sheets BUT NOT OF TEXT OR EXERCISE BOOKS OR YOUR OWN HANDNOTES. The test is strictly individual and it is not allowed to consult other material, under penalty of exclusion.
6. The written evaluation is expressed through the following synthetic judgments: Poor, Average, Fair, Good, Excellent.
7. The oral admission is subject to an evaluation at least Average on the written exam. The examination consists of an oral test, the typical duration of 20-30 minutes, in which you are asked to face ab initio two or more three topics of the lectures, by setting the problem from the point of view of both physics and mathematics.
8. The overall performance rating (out of thirty) is carried out in the oral examination, taking into account the results of the first test. To get at least 27/30, one must have a rating of at least Fair.
9. Insufficient assessment at the oral examination will normally result in the written-test repetition.- Oggetto:
